Do Louis XIV wish they were Radiohead?

So I have recently been digging this song called Karma Police by Radiohead. For the most part I don't listen to Radiohead, (I know, I know, blasphemy, blah blah blah) but I do really like this song. I absolutely love the piano and guitar chords in the beginning, the dark bass-line, and the piano throughout. I also love "This is what you get when you mess with us." from the lyrics of the song. So after listening to it quite a few times, the chords and instrumentation are seered into my brain.
So when I heard this new song called Air Traffic Control by Louis XIV, my first impression was that it was some sort or remix or mashup with Karma Police, but it turns out the intro is just a blatant rip-off.

Listen.

Karma Police:

Air Traffic Control:

And here they are mixed together: (I had to change the speed a little bit but it's still the same song)

They sound just the same to me. The Air Traffic Control is a little slower and has strings and some sort of banjo or something in there, but the chord progression is the same. Notice where the bass hits in Karma Police at about 26 seconds and where the bass hits in Air Traffic Control at about 14 seconds. Also notice the fade into the verses, Karma Police at 21 seconds and Air Traffic Control at 27 seconds. Maybe it's just me, but these Louis XIV guys should come up with their own music. And the voice is just plain annoying.

And then to unravel more conspiracy, or rather just to point out, Karma Police has been compared to the piano in Sexy Sadie by The Beatles. Thom Yorke himself (Radiohead's lead guy) has said that they had been listening to The Beatles when they made OK Computer.

Well I guess it could be worse. At least they're copying a good song.

And at least it's not as bad as Vanilla Ice.

Hmm...I can hear the similarities between the two, but I don't think Louis XIV were looking to prove something.

Radiohead are geniuses, and it bugs me that they're starting to become a bit commercial. I love all of their music, but I stick "Karma Police" up there with the greatest songs ever written. I get choked up just hearing the opening piano and guitar. :) Look for a live performance of "Karma Police" on YouTube; Radiohead are phenomenal live!

Hmm...that's pretty freakin' lame. Must admit that I really am liking this Karma Police song. I think I'll buy it off of iTunes RIGHT NOW.

I thought I was the only crazy person who thought that Karma police, air traffic control were similar tosexy sadie by the beatles. Another song that we can add to this is list is Look what you've done by Jet. If you notice all four songs have a similiar concept; KARMA...what goes around comes back around. I love them all!
